Former University of South Carolina star Justin Smoak is ranked the No. 12 prospect in the minor leagues by Baseball America's John Manuel. Smoak, a first baseman, is in the Texas Rangers' farm system.
Sumter hosts event
Sumter American Legion Post 15 hosted an event Monday night featuring three professional players and three collegiate players talking about their baseball lives. Sorry I didn't know about it in time to post it before it happened.
