State players academic All-District
Six players from state schools earned first-team berths on the Academic All-District 3 team selected for ESPN The Magazine and the College Sports Information Directors Association. Austin Fleet of Coastal Carolina, Matt Leeds of College of Charleston and Tyler Cook were selected in the University division, with USC Aiken's Gary Asbill, Anderson's Derek Hipp and Francis Marion's Alex Lee selected in the college division. Chance Gilmore of Coastal and Preston Shuey of Francis Marion were second-team choices in their respective divisions.
Two national seeds from state?
Prior to Friday's results, Kendall Rogers of Rivals.com posited than South Carolina could be the No. 5 national seed and Coastal Carolina No. 7.
