Voorhees players honored
Second baseman Demarcus Adams-England and outfielder Arthur James III of Voorhees were named all-conference for the Association of Independent Institutions during the group's awards banquet in Jackson, Tenn., Tuesday night. The group begins its postseason tournament today at Pringles Park in Jackson.

  • Three state players join Golden Spikes Award watch list
    USC pitcher Blake Cooper, Clemson outfielder Kyle Parker and The Citadel pitcher Asher Wojciechowski are among 23 players added to the watch list for the Golden Spikes Award, presented annually by USA Baseball to the top player in college baseball. They join Coastal Carolina pitcher Cody Wheeler and infielder Scott Woodward on the list. The 60-player list will be trimmed to 30 semifinalists in June, with the award to be announced later this year
