I owe Coastal fans an apology

Back during the winter, I posted a few polls to perhaps try to expand the awareness of this blog.

One of the polls I posted was (roughly) "Which state team do you think will go the farthest this postseason." I listed Clemson, Coastal Carolina, South Carolina and couple of other schools as options, then went to several fan message boards to solicit participation.

One Coastal fan linked to the poll through one post on a fan site and urged his fellow Chanticleer fans to vote (paraphrased) early and often.

I mistakenly thought it was just Coastal fans wanting to win a vote against Clemson and South Carolina, and, fearing numbers skewed so far in Coastal's favor would harm what credibility the poll might have, I removed the poll from the site ahead of schedule.

After following the Chanticleers this season, I can see it wasn't just bravado spurring the voting support for Coastal -- it was genuine confidence that the Chants were every bit as good as Clemson, USC or any other state team.

The Coastal voters were right, I was wrong, and I apologize.
