  • Bowman goes 1-for-2
Coastal's Daniel Bowman, who replaced the injured Scott Woodward on the West team for the Cape Cod League All-Star Game, was 1-for-2 with a double as the West won, 5-0, in Fenway Park.

    Miller profiled
For you Baseball America online subscribers, there's a feature on Clemson's Brad Miller. I don't have a subscription, so I don't know the topic, other than an implication that Miller is working on his defense.

  • Roth working on offense
Former Riverside High star Michael Roth, one of the heroes of South Carolina's College World Series title as a pitcher, is concentrating on his offense in the New England Collegiate Baseball League this summer. Through Tuesday, Roth was hitting .304 with 2 homers and 13 RBIs for the Sanford Mainers. He has a four-game hitting streak. Roth was 1-for-9 at the plate for USC in 2010, with the hit a home run.
