PC's Pollock revamps staff
Presbyterian coach Elton Pollock has promoted Chris Edwards to pitching coach and hired Josh Davis as an assistant coach. Davis is a son of former Cubs catch Jody Davis.

    Former The Citadel pitcher Raymond Copenhaver has signed a free agent contract with the Chicago White Sox.

    I finally found a complete list of the ABCA All-Region teams. Charleston's Matt Leeds, Wofford's Mac Doyle, Clemson's Kyle Parker, The Citadel's Asher Wojciechowski and Coastal Carolina's Anthony Meo were first-team all-Atlantic.

  • SCBL sets all-star schedule
    The Southern Collegiate Baseball League has set its schedule of events associated with its all-star game July 14 at Wofford College's Russell C. King Field.

  • Bradley has two hits
    South Carolina's Jackie Bradley had two hits and scored a run in Tuesday's first intrasquad scrimmage for the U.S. Collegiate National team in Cary, N.C. Clemson's Brad Miller and Coastal Carolina's Anthony Meo also are on the tryout roster. In addition, Erik Sommerville of Francis Marion was among the nonroster invitees. I have been unable to find a complete list of nonroster invitees, so there may be other state players involved.

    College of Charleston's Matt Leeds will compete in a Home Run Derby competition at Omaha's Rosenblatt Stadium today. The event will be televised at 1 p.m. Saturday on CBS.
