Tanner wants new deal
Fresh from winning the College World Series, USC coach Ray Tanner wants a contract extension, and possibly a raise, from the University, according to The State.

    Pitcher Jordan Propst, outfielder Whit Merrifield and pitcher/DH Parker Bangs of the University of South Carolina have reached deals with the Kansas City Royals. All there were selected in last month's MLB draft.

    Clemson's Jack Leggett has been named the Atlantic Region coach of the year by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

    South Carolina's Jackie Bradley Jr. had three hits Wednesday night as the Blue team played the Red team to a 5-5 tie in Game 2 of the Collegiate National Team trials in Cary, N.C.
