Tigers' Hinson works at second base
Clemson third baseman John Hinson has spent much of his stint in the Cape Cod League this summer playing second base. I don't know if it was by necessity or because Clemson coaches are considering shifting Hinson to second to replace the graduated Mike Freeman. Hinson hit .246 in the regular season. Cotuit took a 1-0 lead over Yarmouth-Dennis with a 3-0 win today in the best-of-three league championship series.

Coker promotes Marrero
Former Coker player Ray Marrero has been promoted to assistant varsity coach and head JV coach for the Cobras. He had been serving as a volunteer assistant coach while working in the school's admissions office. Marrero replaces Kyle Rayl, who left Coker to become the head coach at Concordia University-Ann Arbor.
