USC Beaufort has hired Bryan Lewallyn as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.
Seager lists four favorites
John Whittle of TheBigSpur.com has a story on Corey Seager of Northwest Cabarrus High in North Carolina. The infielder in the recruiting class of 2010 lists, in no particular order, Clemson, East Carolina, North Carolina and South Carolina as the four favorites for his services. His brother, Kyle, played at North Carolina and was a third-round draft pick in 2009.
Signings going slowly
According to Kendall Rogers of Yahoo! Sports and Rivals.com, only 15 of 32 first-round picks from the June draft have reached agreements with pro teams as Monday's deadline for signing approaches. No. 1 overall pick Bryce Harper has yet to come to terms with the Washington Nationals. Another non-signee, of course, is Clemson's Kyle Parker. Others include Ole Miss pitcher Drew Pomeranz, Miami catcher Yasmani Grandal, Georgia Tech pitcher Deck McGuire, North Carolina pitcher Matt Harvey and Arkansas infielder Zack Cox. Throw in LSU's Anthony Ranaudo, a supplemental first-round pick, and USC's Sam Dyson, a fourth-rounder, and there's a lot of star power still out there.
