Winthrop heads to California
San Diego State has announced its 2011 schedule, which includes two home games with Winthrop. Also, the Aztecs, coached by former major-leaguer Tony Gwynn, play a three-game series at Western Carolina.

  • Tanner speaks in Greenville
    USC coach Ray Tanner will be the featured speaker Tuesday at a Coaches4Character event at Redemption World Outreach Center in Greenville. Former USC assistant basketball coach Greg Blatt is one of the leaders of the group, Potential Youth Foundation. Its mission statement is "Building solid young men and women through a structured program focused on academic, athletic and character development."
