Charleston Southern redshirt freshman Will Bedenbaugh, a former Mid-Carolina High star, was killed in an automobile accident over the weekend. He played in eight games in 2010 before being sidelined by an injury. Funeral services are set for Wednesday.
Tanner nominated
USC coach Ray Tanner has been nominated by Celebrate Positive for the 2010 United Nationsd NGO Positive Peace Award in the coach category. It is the first year for the award, which recognizes individuals, businesses, athletes, sports teams, entertainers and schools around the world for their positive contributions.
