NCAA mulls changes in postseason

Kendall Rogers of Yahoo!Sports/Rivals.com is reporting that the NCAA is considering changes to the postseason format for baseball.

One proposals would have 32 best-of-three first-round series, with the winners advancing to eight four-team super regionals to determine the eight College World Series teams.

The other proposal calls for best-of-three series in the first and second rounds, with the eight winners reaching the CWS.

I'm undecided on how I feel about the proposals, but I'm leaning toward liking them. What do you think? Share your opinion on the comments section.

I'm for it - It'll draw more attention for D1 baseball through increased TV exposure by expanding the number of locations hosting round #1 - and with it more money if they expand the number of locations hosting the rounds ... I also think seeding becomes more important - there will be more David v. Goliath stories out of this new format - "Dallas Baptist pulls the upset over NC State in 3...".

I think this also opens up the possibility for more Big Ten/Northeast area schools to host at least first-round series, which could lead to broader appeal, too.
