Baseball America looks at smaller schools
Baseball America offers its previews of NCAA Division II & III, NAIA and junior college programs. There are no state teams included, but there was one interesting tidbits. Former Clemson pitcher Josh Thrailkill has graduated and will play for D-II Tampa.

  • Bobcats picked to win
    Georgia College/State is the coaches' preseason choice to win the Peach Belt Conference championship. Francis Marion is picked third, USC Aiken fourth and Lander 10th.

  • Tigers change starting times
    Clemson has announced time changes for three home baseball games this season. The Eastern Michigan game Feb 19 will start at 1 p.m. instead of 2 p.m., the Maryland game April 9 has been changed from a 6:30 p.m. start to a 7 p.m. start and the April 30 game with Georgia Tech is now scheduled to start at 1 p.m. instead of 6:30 p.m. as previously announced.

    Thomason may return in March
    USC coach Ray Tanner told The Greenville News today that freshman right-hander Drake Thomason out of Eastside High may be able to pitch as soon as March 25. Thomason is recovering from Tommy John surgery.
