At least five players from state schools are ranked in Baseball America's Top 100 college player draft prospects for 2011. Outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. of USC is No. 6 and pitcher Matt Price of the Gamecocks is No. 45.
Clemson has three players: shortstop Brad Miller (No. 35), third baseman John Hinson (No. 75 and outfielder/pitcher Will Lamb (No. 84).
There may be players from other schools, but those schools haven't posted releases and I don''t have a Baseball America subscription.
USC Beaufort opens practice
USC Beaufort opens preseason practice on Tuesday. The Sand Sharks are ranked 18th nationally in the NAIA preseason poll.
Voorhees announces schedule
Voorhees has posted its 2011 schedule. Included is an April 15 game against Claflin in Greenville as part of a United Negro College Fund/Historically Black Colleges/Universities day.
