Preseason Preview: USC Salkehatchie

This is the fifth in a series of previews of state college teams. USC Salkehatchie coach Bubba Dorman talks about the Indians.

PSB: What is the outlook for your team this season?
BD: USC Salkehatchie expects to compete with all the teams in the Region X Carolina’s Junior College Conference. We are short on quality arms, but we have a good number of arms that will throw strikes and we have a few guys that will swing a decent bat.

PSB: Based on what you saw in fall workouts, which newcomers seem most ready to contribute from the start of the season?
BD: Newcomers that will contribute on the mound this season are Brandon Stoots, Kalin Smith, Richard Carmichael, Adrian Rivero, Jason Ritter, Nicholas Smiley, Tyler Asbury and Jeremy Lacey. New comers that we expect to contribute at the plate and on defense are Dominick Aiken, Jermale Paige, Tyler Bice, Zach Holt, Dalton Novia, Thomas Levander and Ryan Walker .

PSB: Based on what you saw in fall workouts, what area of your team is of the most concern entering the season?
BD: Our pitching. We do not have a dominant arm.

PSB: Which returnees from 2010 do you think fans will see the most improvement in for 2011?
BD: David Rickenbacker, Robby Assemany, Aaron Davis, and Jeremiah Jackson.
