Spartans picked last in A-Sun
USC Upstate is picked to finish 11th in the Atlantic Sun Conference baseball standings this season according to a preseason poll of league coaches. Florida Gulf Coast and Mercer finished in a tie for first in the poll.

    The Citadel is using an online media guide this season instead of the traditional printed media guide.

  • SEC teams will have visible pitch clocks
    The NCAA has instituted speedup rules - including a 20-second pitch clock when no runners are on base - for 2011. The Southeastern Conference has announced all member schools will have pitch clocks viewable by fans. A Clemson spokesman said there would not be a visible pitch clock at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. A Furman spokesman said he was not sure if there would be a viewable pitch clock at Latham Stadium. The speedup protocol follows.
