State players honored
The Citadel's Austin Pritcher was named pitcher of the month and College of Charleston's Matt Leeds was named player of the month by the Southern Conference.

    CollegeBaseballDaily.com has made its weekly projection of the 64-team NCAA tournament field. Florida is the national No. 1 seed, South Carolina No. 4 and Clemson No. 7. Also pegged to make the field are College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina.

    Presbyterian has announced that 16 of its remaining games will receive Internet audio coverage. Also, eight games are set for WLBG-AM (860) in Laurens.

    Benedict has again swept the SIAC East Division player of the week honors. Christopher Miller has been named player of the week and Donald Williams has been named pitcher of the week.

    Furman coach Ron Smith had to miss Thursday's 11-4 loss to Presbyterian for being ejected in the Paladins' previous game at East Tennessee State on Tuesday.

    Bench Award Watch List set
    The watch list for the Johnny Bench Award, given to the top catcher in college baseball, has been announced. There are no players from state schools on the list.

    A fund has been established to offset expenses for University of Georgia player Johnathan Taylor, who suffered a neck injury during a collision in Sunday's game against Florida State.
