    Sanders keeps on winning

    (Campbellsville University photo)

Woodruff native and former North Greenville coach Beauford Sanders recently guided Campbellsville (Ky.) to its third consecutive Mid-South Conference regular-season title After a non-conference game at Indiana University Southeast on Tuesday, the Tigers play host to the MSC Tournament beginning Thursday.

Counting his tenure at North Greenville, Sanders has won more than 900 games as a head coach. His teams have had winning seasons nine consecutive years and 12 of the last 13. Two of his four losing seasons in his 21 years at Campbellsville came in his first three seasons.

    News Digest, April 25

    Bradley, Marzilli sidelined
South Carolina outfielder Jackie Bradley suffered a tendon injury to his left wrist and is expected to miss at least four weeks under the best case scenario, according to Gamecocks coach Ray Tanner. Also, Evan Marzilli is suffered from an undisclosed medical condition and will not play against Liberty on Tuesday. His availability for the weekend series against Auburn is questionable. Here's the e-mail USC sent out:

South Carolina junior outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. has a tendon injury in his left wrist. Bradley had an MRI done Monday morning with Dr. Jeffrey Guy, medical director for University of South Carolina Athletics. The MRI confirmed the tendon injury, which was diagnosed in Starkville, Miss. by MSU orthopedists. He will be seen by a hand specialist on Monday afternoon to set a course of treatment. He is out indefinitely with this injury.
South Carolina sophomore outfielder Evan Marzilli was evaluated by University of South Carolina physicians on Monday morning. His information was reviewed and additional lab work was performed. He will see a specialist on Tuesday morning for further evaluation. Marzilli will not play in Tuesday’s game vs. Liberty and he is questionable for the Auburn series. Marzilli has a medical condition. HIPAA precludes the release of any additional information. The USC Medical Staff does not foresee any long-term effects from this condition.
