Some food for you stats nuts

* South Carolina second baseman Chase Vergason has six runs batted in in six NCAATournament games. He drove in five runs in his 42 games before that. Counting three SEC Touranment games Vergason is hitting .423 (11-for-26) in the postseason. He  hit .221 (19-for-86) in the regular season.

* The Gamecocks stole 35 bases in their first 57 games. They have stolen six bases in six NCAA Tournament games.

* USC third baseman LB Dantzler is hitting .391 in six NCAA Tournament games.

* Gamecocks pitcher Michael Roth has made six career College World Series starts, second only to the seven by Miami's J.D. Arteaga.

* USC closer Matt Price is eighth on the NCAA's Division I all-time list with 42 career saves. Price has four career College World Series wins, tied for the most ever.
