USA's World Baseball Classic staff has S.C. flavor

Four of the six assistant coaches on manager Joe Torre's staff for Team USA in the 2013 World Baseball Classic have ties to South Carolina.

Willie Randolph was born in Holly Hill, Gerald Perry played at Hilton Head's McCracken High, Larry Bowa played for the Spartanburg Phillies in 1966 - one of the best minor-league teams ever in the state - and Dale Murphy played for the 1975 Greenwood Braves.

Marchel Lachemann and Greg Maddux complete the staff, which was announced Monday.
