Coastal Carolina was a unanimous choice to win the South Division of the Big South Conference in 2013, according to a vote of league coaches, the league announced today.
The Chanticleers received all 12 first-place votes in the rankings of the South Division. Liberty, which opens its season at South Carolina, was the coaches' choice to win the North.
Charleston Southern was picked to finish third in the South Division, Winthrop fourth and Presbyterian sixth.
Coastal senior right-hander Aaron Burke was the coaches' choice as preseason pitcher of the year. Campbell's Michael Felton and Radford's Jeff Kemp shared the preseason player of the year selection.
