Gamecocks land seventh in composite poll
CollegeBaseballInsiderlcom saved me some work by doing a composite poll of six national rankings. Arkansas is the composite No. 1. South Carolina is seventh. No other state teams cracked the composite top 20. Six SEC teams, four ACC teams and future ACC member Louisville are in the rankings.

Newberry outfielder Wesley Camp and Anderson designated hitter Erick Sanderson were second-team choices on the preseason all-South Atlantic Conference team chosen by league coaches.
