Gamecocks land seventh in composite poll
CollegeBaseballInsiderlcom saved me some work by doing a composite poll of six national rankings. Arkansas is the composite No. 1. South Carolina is seventh. No other state teams cracked the composite top 20. Six SEC teams, four ACC teams and future ACC member Louisville are in the rankings.

Website picks Cougars in SoCon
PerfectGame.org has picked College of Charleston to win the Southern Conference championship. The complete article requires a subscription, so only the top five teams are shown before it goes behind a paywall.

Camp, Sanderson honored
Newberry outfielder Wesley Camp and Anderson designated hitter Erick Sanderson were second-team choices on the preseason all-South Atlantic Conference team chosen by league coaches.

No state schools are ranked and no state players are listed among the top prospects in Baseball America's preview of NCAA Divisions II and III, NAIA and junior college programs.
