Coker's Kirkwood gets support
The NCAA.com Website has a nice feature story on how the Coker baseball community rallied around player Ernie Kirkwood III when he was going through some tough times earlier this season. The Cobras play Grand Canyon in an elimination game of the NCAA Division II World Series Tuesday in Cary, N.C.

Pawlowski out at Auburn
Auburn was on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament Monday but landed on the wrong side. Soon afterward, the school announced the dismissal of John Pawlowski after five seasons as head coach. Pawlowski played and coached at Clemson and later served as head coach at College of Charleston.

He also notes that the Nashville and Louisville Regionals could produce a meeting of two coaches who were members of The Citadel's 1990 College World Series team: Tony Skole of East Tennessee State and Dan MCDonnell of Louisville.
