Gamecocks still hurting
South Carolina played without four regulars in the starting lineup in midweek losses to Charleston Southern and The Citadel, and coach Chad Holbrook's comments after the loss to the Bulldogs suggested shortstop Marcus Mooney (concussion), outfielder Connor Bright (elbow) and infielder Max Schrock (virus & back) wouldn't be available for this weekend's series at Auburn. In fact, Auburn suggested Schrock might not return this season. Here's Neil White's report for The State's Website.

* Clemson has posted preview information for its weekend ACC series at Pittsburgh. Matthew Crownover, Daniel Gossett and Jake Long are listed as the Tigers' starting pitchers.

* Charleston Southern visits Big South foe UNC Asheville beginning Thursday. Here are the Buccaneers' notes on the series.

* College of Charleston's CAA home series against James Madison is the traditional Friday-Sunday format even though this is Easter weekend.

* Anderson has posted preview notes for its home series with Newberry. Both schools are trying to clinch spots in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament next week.
