PalmettoStateBaseball.com team of the week, April 7-13: USC Sumter

USC Sumter (8-0 last week)
(Went 2-0 against Limestone JV; went 2-0 against Gray Military, went 4-0 against Guilford Technical CC)

Tom Fleenor developed USC Sumter into a junior college power before leaving after last season to try to rebuild the Lenoir-Rhyne program.

Tim Medlin was hired to replace Fleenor with the Fire Ants and hasn't missed a beat. Their four-game sweep of last-place Guilford Technical CC capped an 8-0 week and improved the Fire Ants; records to 31-9.  They also moved four games above .500 in NJCAA Region 10 play entering their final regular-season next weekend against neighboring Florence-Darlington Tech.
