Byrnes High graduate Daniel Gossett of Clemson is among
the 21 semifinalists for the Golden Spikes Award  given
to the top amateur baseball player in the country.

Clemson junior right-hander Daniel Gossett is one of 21 semifinalists for the Golden Spikes Award, given annually to the top amateur baseball player in the United States. Gossett has a 7-1 record and 1.78 ERA for the Tigers this season, He has 102 strikeouts in 101 1/3 innings. Clemson opens play in the NCAA Tournament Friday against Oregon in the Nashville regional.
