Reynolds apparently out at North Greenville
It appears Reggie Reynolds may be out as baseball coach at North Greenville after three seasons. Ron Scarborough of The Evening Sports Page radio program mentioned it on air Thursday night. Reynolds' name is not listed on the team roster or the school's athletics staff directory on the school Website. Graduate assistant Adam Taylor is the only baseball staffer listed on the roster. Reynolds was an assistant under previous coach Travis Henson before moving up before the 2012 season. Reynolds was 28-26 his first season, 18-28 his second and 8-35 in 2014. Scarborough said he'd heard Furman assistant and former University of South Carolina player Landon Powell could be in line to replace Reynolds.
Greiner on top player watch list
USC catcher Grayson Greiner is the only player from a state school on the 30-player midseason watch list for the Golden Spikes Award, presented annually to the player judged to be the top amateur baseball player in the country. Greiner, a junior from Blythewood, is batting .345 with 8 homers and 47 RBIs.
