ACC
* Duke's 12-inning loss to Miami sent Georgia Tech into Sunday's championship game. The Yellow Jackets, who had to beat Wake Forest in a play-in game Tuesday to qualify for pool play, play Maryland for the championship.
The Terrapins had already clinched their pool title prior to Saturday's loss to North Carolina. They had been unbeaten this month before Saturday. Maryland is trying to earn its first NCAA Tournament bid since 1971.
Big South
* Winthrop advanced to Sunday's championship game by beating top-seeded Liberty. Coach Tom Riginos' Eagles, still unbeaten in the tournament, scored four runs in the eighth inning to win and escape having to play Liberty again later Saturday.
The Eagles play Campbell Sunday for the league's automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament. Liberty, which crept into some national rankings late in the season, must hope for an at-large berth to the NCAA field.
CAA
* College of Charleston completed an unbeaten run through the tournament by beating top-seeded William & Mary, 6-4. The Cougars, in their first year in the Colonial after moving over from the Southern Conference, took a 6-0 lead into the ninth before the Tribe tried to force a second game.
SEC
* LSU continued its charge toward a possible national seed by whipping Arkansas, 11-1, in a game halted in the eighth inning because of the 10-run rule. The Tigers play in Sunday's title game against Florida, which rallied to beat Kentucky, 6-5.
SoCon
* Furman and Wofford couldn't pull off an all-South Carolina final matchup on Sunday as they combined to go 0-3 on Saturday.
Georgia Southern needed to beat Furman twice, and did just that. The Eagles jumped to an 8-0 early lead, then withstood a Paladins rally to win Saturday's first game, 11-8.
The Eagles jumped on the Paladins early again in the second matchup before Furman scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth to force extra inning. A three-run 12th was the difference in a 10-7 GSU victory.
Wofford entered Saturday needing to beat Samford twice to reach the final. The Terriers scored first and trailed just 3-2 entering the seventh of the first game. That's when the Bulldogs took control with an eight-run outburst en route to a 12-3 victory. That ended Wofford's season with a school-record 32 victories.
NCAA DII
* Lander rallied for three runs in the seventh inning to beat Cal State Chico, 6-4, in the first-round game in Cary,. N.C. The Bearcats play Southern Indiana Monday in the second round. Southern Indiana beat top-ranked Tampa, 4-3, in Saturday's other game.
NJCAA
* Spartanburg Methodist and Miami Dade sat out Saturday while the other eight teams played. The Pioneers will be part of the feature game Sunday night to complete the first round.
