Martin returning
South Carolina's offensive and defensive prospects for 2015 received a boost Wednesday when Kyle Martin announced he would return for his senior season. Martin, from Greenville's Wade Hampton High School, was a 20th-round selection of the Los Angeles Angels. Martin hit .336 with 5 homers and 38 RBIs in 2014. He also was one of the top defensive first-basemen in the SEC.

* South Carolina relief pitcher Joel Seddon has been named second-team all-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
