Report: Holbrook gets contract extension
The State reports South Carolina baseball coach Chad Holbrook will receive a two-year contract extension, pending approval by the school's board of trustees at a Tuesday meeting. Holbrook is entering his third season as coach of the Gamecocks.

USC sets 'leadoff dinner'
South Carolina will hold a  leadoff dinner fundraiser for its baseball program Jan. 24 at Seawell's in Columbia. The Gamecocks open their season Feb. 13 against College of Charleston.

Crownover a Clemson leader recently posted a feature on junior pitcher Matthew Crownover, who is expected to content for the NK. 1 starter slot in 2015.

Cougars pick up 15
College of Charleston added 15 players during the early signing period.

Spartans add three
USC Upstate has announced the signing of three players for the 2015 freshman class.

Paladins add 11
Pitchers Chase Belk of Wilson Hall High in Sumter, Jake Crawford of Belton-Honea Path and  Eric Taylor of Northwestern High are among 11 players who signed with Furman during the early signing period.

Pacers reveal class
USC Aiken recently announced its signing class, including five players from state junior colleges and Joey Smithers from South Aiken High.
