Report: Holbrook gets contract extension
The State reports South Carolina baseball coach Chad Holbrook will receive a two-year contract extension, pending approval by the school's board of trustees at a Tuesday meeting. Holbrook is entering his third season as coach of the Gamecocks.

USC sets 'leadoff dinner'
South Carolina will hold a  leadoff dinner fundraiser for its baseball program Jan. 24 at Seawell's in Columbia. The Gamecocks open their season Feb. 13 against College of Charleston.
