Claflin had four players named to the preseason all-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball team. They were pitchers Justin Vreeland and Darius Boykins, infielder Rashad Bivens and outfielder Sixto Guerrero.
Benedict had two honorees: outfielder Daniel Young and second baseman Kevin Davis.
