Palmetto State Baseball team of the week, Feb. 23-March 1: Erskine

Erskine (3-0 for the week)
(went 3-0 vs. Limestone)

Erskine won its first 11 games of the season before losing a game to Barton. The result was the Flying Fleet has begun appearing in national polls.

That's likely to continue this week after Erskine went 3-0 in a Conference Carolinas series against Limestone. The series was moved from Gaffney to Due West because of field conditions.

The Fleet have a .375 team batting average and a 1.56 staff earned-run average. They've stolen 29 bases in 33 attempts.

Earlier this season, coach Kevin Nichols picked up his 500th career victory.
