Coastal Carolina (4-0 for the week)
(went 1-0 vs. Toledo; went 1-0 vs. North Carolina; went 3-0 vs. Bryant)
Coastal Carolina has become one of the top baseball programs in a baseball-rich state. The Chanticleers have gone through some growing pains the past couple of seasons as they've tried to make sure they can keep pace in the facilities race. They played their home games the last two seasons at Myrtle Beach while a new on-campus facility was being built.
An unfortunate mix of injuries and losses to graduation contributed to a 24-33 record in 2014, ending a string of 16 consecutive winning seasons.
The Chanticleers are back in Conway this year, drawing some nice crowds and playing good baseball. Coach Gary Gilmore's squad beat nationally ranked North Carolina of the ACC on Tuesday as part of a 4-0 week, earning them the team of the week designation. They are now 13-6 this season.
