Benedict is host team for SIAC Baseball
The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball tournament will be played at Capital City Stadium in Columbia beginning on Thursday. Benedict, which won the SIAC East Division championship, is the host school for the event and plays its first game at 6 p.m. Thursday vs. Kentucky State. Claflin also qualified for the tournament and will play Tuskegee at 9 a.m. in Thursday's opener.

Skylar Hunter of The Citadel, Will Stillman of Wofford and Taylor Widener of South Carolina are on the 39-player midseason watch list for the Stopper of the Year Award, given annually to the top closer in NCAA Division I
