Voorhees in tournament
Voorhees will play host Talladega at 3 p.m. today in Talladega, Ala., in the first round of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. Edward Waters and Tougaloo meet in the other first-round game.
The Tigers have a 10-19 record under first-year coach Justin Thomas. That is more than Voorhees won in the previous three combined, although then-coach Robert Platts helped lay the foundation for a program that didn't field a team the season prior to his arrival.
Thomas Tweeted that Voorhees players Marvin Mouzon and Denada Thomas earned all-GCAC honors, but I have been unable to find a complete list of the team.
