Selwyn Young coached Benedict to the East Division championship
in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this season.

Benedict's Young buys pro team; will stay with Tigers
Benedict coach Selwyn Young has purchased the Elleneburg (Wash.) Bulls of the independent Mount Rainier Professional Baseball League. Young and other family members will be involved in the operation of the team, but he told PalmettoStateBaseball.com he will remain coach at Benedict. The league's season begins May 21.

Davis named Benedict MVP
Kevin Davis was named most valuable player for baseball and Mitchell Dixon was named baseball's player of the year at Benedict College's athletics awards banquet Monday night in Columbia.

Teufel gets Clemson honor
Former clemson standout Tim Teufel is part of the 10-member class selection for induction in the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame later this year. Teufel followed his stay at Clemson with a long career in the major leagues.
