Northern Kentucky announced on Monday that it is leaving the Atlantic Sun Conference for the Horizon League effective July 1. The school cited lower travel costs as one of the reasons, but made no reference to the league it was leaving in its announcement.
The Atlantic Sun was more gracious, wishing the departing institution well.
