Stingers have postponement
Florence-Darlington Tech's scheduled Wednesday home opener against Southeastern CC has been postponed because of projected inclement weather. No makeup date was announced. F-D Tech is now scheduled to open its season with a 5 p.m. Saturday doubleheader against Anne Arundel.
Preseason honors
* Clemson catcher Chris Okey and outfielder Reed Rohlman are second-team selections on the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's preseason all-American team announced Tuesday.
NCBWA
* Claflin infielders Rashad Bivens and Jabari Brown and Benedict relief pitcher Yaniel Delgado were first-team choices to the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's preseason all-conference baseball team in voting by league head coaches and sports information directors.
* Benedict had four players on the second team: shortstop Armando Valentin, outfielder David White, utility player Daniel Young and starting pitcher James Roman. Claflin infielder Shomarii Thomas also was a second-team pick.
