Coker's Schmotzer to retire
Dave Schmotzer, the only baseball coach Coker College has ever had, will retire after this season. He will remain at the Hartsville school as a teacher in the Physical Education Department.

Schmotzer's teams have won seven conference titles and three conference tournament titles. The Cobras went to to the NAIA World Series in 1994 and to the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament in in 2013.

His twin brother Dan, the Cobras' men's basketball coach, will step down after this season as well. He will serve in the PE Department and as the school's intramural director.

Thomas Knowd (at least that's his Twitter handle), a high school baseball player in Florida, announced on Twitter that he as committed to play baseball for Voorhees.

Crusaders push Tuesday game back
North Greenville's Tuesday home game vs. Montreat has been pushed back 30 minutes to a 4 p.m. start.
