In addition to being the season-opening weekend for NCAA Division I schools, this weekend features four groupings of games in tournament-type settings.
* The Caravelle Resort Tournament has games at Brooks Stadium in Conway and TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark in Myrtle Beach.
* Furman and Presbyterian will participate in the First Pitch Invitational at Fluor Field in Greenville.
* USC Upstate and Wofford will continue their recent tradition of three games in as many days against three opponents.
* Florence-Darlington Tech has the first of two weekend rounds of the Pepsi Invitational in Florence.
Elsewhere, USC Aiken plays host to Lander in an early season showdown of two ranked Peach Belt Conference teams.
