Sand Sharks to host first-round series
USC Beaufort is one of nine teams named as first-round hosts for the NAIA Division I baseball playoffs next month. Each site will be the scene of a five-team, double-elimination tournament.

Historic Grayson Stadium in Savannah will serve as the site of the USCB event.

USCB is 37-6 and ranked fifth in the latest NAIA Division I coaches poll. USC Beaufort has won the regular-season championship of The Sun Conference.

One of the other hosts is Georgia Gwinnett College, the nation's top-ranked team and USCB's opponent fr a three-game series this weekend in Lawrenceville, Ga.

* Newberry's Friday South Atlantic Conference game at Coker has been postponed and rescheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday in Hartsville.

* North Greenville's Friday Conference Carolinas game at Erskine has been postponed and rescheduled for 2:30 p.m. Monday in Due West. Anderson has agreed to move the start of its Monday home game with Erskine back an hour to 7 p.m. to accommodate t rescheduled Erskine/NGU game.
