Palmetto State Baseball team of the week, April 11-17: USC Beaufort

USC Beaufort (3-0 for the week)
(Went 2-0 vs. Southeastern)

USC Beaufort. faced a dicey situation headed into the weekend, taking a three-game lead in The Sun Conference into a weekend series at second-place Southeastern.

The Sand Sharks responded in strong fashion, staging two ninth-inning rallies to sweep the series and clinch the regular-season title and top seed heading into the league tournament.

USCB took an 8-1 lead in Friday's series opener, but trailed 9-8 entering the ninth. only to fall behind 9-8. The Sand Sharks scored two runs in the ninth and held on for an 11-10 win.

After rolling to victory in the opener of Saturday's doubleheader, USCB fell behind 5-1 early in the nightcap. The Sand Sharks rallied to tie, then scored three runs in the ninth to complete the sweep.
