ACC sets pools, schedule for play-in games

The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced seedings, the play-in games schedule and the two pools for the league baseball tournament beginning Tuesday at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Coastal Division Miami earned the No. 1 seed, with Louisville No. 2. Clemson is the sixth seed.

No. 7 Duke meets No. 10 Wake Forest at 11 a.m. Tuesday in one of two single-elimination play-in games. No. 8 Boston College and No. 9 Georgia Tech play at 3 p.m.

The Duke-Wake winner advances to Pool B with Louisville, Virginia and Clemson. The BC-Tech winner goes to Pool A with Miami, Florida State and N.C. State.

Games are scheduled for 11 a.m. 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. during the pool play round.

The two pools will have round-robin play from Wednesday through Saturday, with the two pool winner advancing to the championship game at noon on Sunday, May 29. The champion gets the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Schedules and times for the pool round will be announced Sunday.

According to a release by the ACC, regional sports networks will carry all 14 games on Tuesday through Saturday. Sunday’s noon championship game will televised nationally by ESPN2. All games will also be available on ESPN3. In addition, the games on Tuesday through Saturday will be broadcast via satellite radio on Sirius 106/XM 193, while Sunday’s championship will be on SiriusXM College Sports national channel 84.
