Beer, Owings, Okey honored
Clemson outfielder Seth Beer was a first-team selection on D1Baseball.com's all-American team named earlier this week. Coastal Carolina's Connor Owings was a second-team choice and Clemson's Chris Okey was a third-team selection.

Coastal Carolina coach Gary Gilmore was named 2016 national coach of the year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Chanticleers honored
Pitcher Bobby Holmes and ther Coastal Carolina team were honored for their academic work Friday in the eve of the College World Series in Omaha. Holmes was honored for having a team-high 3.77 GPA and the Chanticleers were honored for having the best team GPA among the eight CWS participants.
