Holbrook says Buscher departure 'mutual decision'
Former South Carolina baseball player Brian Buscher is no longer on the Gamecocks' staff as a volunteer assistant, coach Chad Holbrook confirmed after Tuesday night's 15-1 at The Citadel.
The State's Matt Connolly reports Holbrook said he and Buscher had a discussion on Monday and "mutual decision" was made. "It was an unfortunate situation we both agreed, and it was in the best interest of our program and everyone involved if we went our separate ways," Holbrook said.
Buscher worked with USC hitters and infielders. The Gamecocks hit .225 for the team in last weekend's series with Alabama and are in the lower half of the SEC statistics in most team offensive categories.
