* South Carolina makes its second trip to Fluor Field in Greenville of the season, facing Furman on Tuesday. Other state rivalries being renewed on Tuesday are Erskine at Newberry and Winthrop at The Citadel. A late addition has North Greenville and Charleston Southern meeting at Lexington Coumty Ballpark. The Crusaders beat the Buccaneers last year in a meeting of the Southern Baptist schools.
* On Wednesday, North Greenville is at Francis Marion in a matchup of two of the top NCAA Division II teams in the state. Also, Winthrop is at Charleston Southern, and USC Upstate is at Wofford.
* USC Lancaster visits the Limestone JVs and Anderson is at Lander on Thursday.
* Presbyterian tries for another road win over an SEC team with a Wednesday trip to Georgia.
* After a Tuesday-Wednesday home series with Yale, Clemson returns to ACC play by hosting Virginia. The Yale games have been moved to afternoon starts (4 p.m. Tuesday, 3 p.m. Wednesday) because of weather issues.
* USC opens Southeastern Conference play with a trip to Tennessee.
* Coastal Carolina opens its Sun Belt Conference schedule with a visit to Texas State, while College of Charleston has a nonconference test at Nebraska.
* Charleston Southern is at Longwood and Winthrop is at UNC Asheville on the Big South Conference's opening weekend.
* Furman, Presbyterian, The Citadel, USC Upstate and Wofford all are at home for nonconference series over the weekend.
* SIAC play begins for Benedict and Claflin with weekend home series vs. Miles and Spring Hill respectively.
.* Walters State, ranked as high as second nationally among junior colleges, makes its annual visit to Spartanburg Methodist on Tuesday.
