Three from S.C. on Golden Spikes Award watch list
Alex Cunningham of Coastal Carolina, Clarke Schmidt of South Carolina and J.P. Sears of The Citadel are among 40 players on the midseason watch list for the Golden Spikes Award, given annually to the top college baseball player in the country.

Furman adding/replacing seats
Work is continuing on installing 880 chairback seats at Latham Stadium at Furman. Several of the seats were installed in time for Tuesday's game with USC Upstate and the remainder are expected to be in place by next week.

Spires serves in D.C.
USC Salkehatchie has posted a picture of former player Griffin Spires on its athletics Facebook page, showing him holding the American Flag as part of the color guard at a White House event.

Clemson is projected as the No. 7 national seed and South Carolina is also projected as host site for a regional in Baseball America's weekly projection of the NCAA Tournament field if it were selected today. Coastal Carolina is projected as going to Clemson and College of Charleston is forecast as going to Columbia.
