Palmetto State Baseball team of the week, April 17-23: Florence-Darlington Tech

Florence-Darlington Tech (3-0 for the week)
(went 3-0 vs. USC Sumter)

Florence-Darlington Tech entered the final weekend of NJCAA Region 10 play without a chance for the regular-season championship, but the Stingers still had something to play for. With the right set of results they could slip into second place and get a more favorable situation for next month's region tournament.

The Stingers did just that, winning three games against USC Sumter (Game 4 was rained out) to earn (by my unofficial calculations) the second seed for the tournament. FD Tech won its last seven region games to finish 13-6, a half-game ahead of Spartanburg Methodist.
