* Clemson is four games behind Louisville in the ACC Atlantic Division entering their three-game series at Doug Kingsmore Stadium beginning Friday. The first game of the series has been moved up to a 1 p.m. start because of weather concerns.
* Furman also has moved its Friday home game with VMI to 1 p.m. The Paladins can finish above .500 in the Southern Conference by winning one of three games this weekend. That's an impressive turnaround from a 1-8 league start.
* Wofford plays host to SoCon leader Mercer for a three-game series.
* South Carolina likely needs to finish at .500 or better in the SEC to have a reasonable hope of an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. To do so the Gamecocks would need to go at least 4-2 over their final two weekends - at Missouri this weekend and at home against Georgia next weekend.
* Winthrop tries to remain in first place in the Big South Conference with a home series against Campbell. Second-place Liberty, a half-game behind the Eagles, has a non-conference series with Virginia Commonwealth. Presbyterian, which is in third place and two games behind Winthrop, is at Charleston Southern.
* Coastal Carolina is a half-game behind South Alabama in the Sun Belt Conference East Division. The Chanticleers have a three-game series at West Division leader Texas Arlington while South Alabama is at Appalachian State.
* College of Charleston beefs up its RPI with a non-conference home series with Arizona.
