The 2018 season begins for NCAA Division I baseball teams Friday. All 11 Division I teams in the Palmetto State are in action, with Winthrop the only teams playing out of state (at Mississippi).
New coaches make their debut at College of Charleston (Chad Holbrook), South Carolina (Mark Kingston) and The Citadel (former Bulldog stalwart player Tony Skole).
Clemson was the only state team to make the NCAA Tournament in 2017. Will the Tigers return to the postseason again this year? If so, will they have any company?
Can South Carolina get to a regional after missing out two of the last three years?
Is 2016 College World Series champ Coastal Carolina ready to return to the postseason?
How about Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, Furman, Presbyterian, The Citadel, USC Upstate, Winthrop or Wofford?
In the comments section below, please share how you think your favorite S.C. NCAA Division I team will do this season. What do your think will be your team's strengths or weaknesses? Who do you think is going to be an impact newcomer? What holdover from 2017 do you see playing a bigger role in 2018?
